Helping You Make Big Career Moves

Coaching Services

The average person will spend one-third of their life at work (and for many of us, far more!). That’s too much time not to love the work you’re doing. And we know that you want to love your work — and get paid well, too.

Carrington Talent Group will help you make the change you are seeking in your career. Truly understanding what you need and matching you with the right coach is what we do best.

“I didn’t know the first thing about how to translate the skills I had developed working in government to the corporate recruitment process. You not only helped me build my confidence (to even apply), but also prepped me for the interviews. I got not one but two corporate job offers that came with a huge salary bump.”

Mohamed Mellaouch, Engineer, The Boeing Company

Coaching

We offer tailored support for talented and motivated executives ready to transform their careers. You may be feeling stuck or unhappy at work (or between jobs), and realize DIYing things hasn’t been as effective as you thought it would be. I’ll match you with a coach (or maybe work with you myself, depending on whether your needs match my expertise) and you will be feeling successful again before you know it. We can help you gain increased personal clarity, make a role or industry pivot, find the next great opportunity, or elevate your skills so you’re the obvious choice for that big promotion.

The Coaching Process

1. Understand

Ready to work smarter, not harder? We’ll meet by phone or Zoom so I can learn about you, your unique career goals, and hear more about where you need support. I’ll make customized recommendations on how a coach might be able to help, provide clarity on timing and pricing, and answer all of your questions.

2. Match

I’ll match you with one of the incredible coaches in my network who will be a great match for the career support you need

3. Win

You and your coach will get to work straight away. You’ll design a set of objectives for your work together and begin chipping away, noting your progress along the way. And, we’ll be there to celebrate alongside you when you land that dream job or when the fog hanging over your current situation finally lifts!

About Catherine Carrington

In my 15 years at Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), I helped 8,000 alumni from many different industries and career stages access coaching and professional development opportunities to advance in their careers. I coached well over 1,000 of those rising executives myself, and matched hundreds of them with other coaches. So, I can confidently say that, when it comes to navigating big career moves and challenges, I’ve seen it all (well, almost). This is how I know I can pair you with the right coach and support your career aspirations in the most impactful and efficient way possible. Utilizing my own recruiting and matching skill sets, I will match you with a powerhouse executive coach who will help you navigate your next job application, industry pivot, salary negotiation, or leadership development plan with expertise and empathy.

“I was happy that your process involved getting to know me, what moves me, where I want to go with my life, and ensuring that the brand expressed by my resume/LinkedIn is working in concert with my goals. I think this is a huge difference from simply having updated my resume to get a new job and was well worth the money!”

Learn More About Coaching

  • Coaching is customized, but can include:

    • Guidance to help you identify your career goals, strengths, limitations, and more

    • Revisions to your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile

    • Expert interview prep, guidance, and practice

    • Offer prep, including how to weigh multiple opportunities and negotiate the best offer

    • Navigating your relationship with your manager, peers, and/or senior leadership

    • Leadership development that will enable career success and upward mobility

  • I spent 15 years doing this for MLT, one of the best coaching organizations in the world, so trust me when I say that matching you with a coach specialized in whatever career transition you’re navigating is one of my top skills! I’ll get to know you on a deeper level than simply “I’m not happy at work,” before matching you with a coach who I know and trust and who is an expert in the area you need support. I’m proud of my nearly 100% success rate of matching clients and coaches.

  • Absolutely! Many companies now offer a coaching budget as a benefit, and others will allow you to use your professional development budget to pay for coaching. And, we’ve helped plenty of our clients figure out a way to ask their companies to pay for a portion of — or all — of the coaching fees.

  • First and foremost, you can expect to be matched with a coach who understands your unique career challenges and has expertise to help you work through them. You can also expect active listening and accountability; positive, forward-thinking questions that guide you toward solutions that make sense for you; and broad discussions that take your evolving life choices (not just today’s problems) into consideration. You’ll also get a customized call schedule, and email correspondence between sessions.

  • Depending on your needs, coaching can last a few sessions or become a long-term engagement.

  • The cost for coaching is highly variable, depending on the type of support you need. Job transition coaching, for example, is typically billed at $250-$300 per hour. Leadership development coaching costs more. Our coaching clients are typically billed after each session, with no contract or commitment required. We also offer a discounted hourly rate for 6-hour or 12-hour packages. Those packages do involve a contract and offer a payment plan, requiring 50% of the fee after the first session and the other 50% midway through the coaching retainer.

  • Luckily, this doesn’t happen often. For clients who purchase one session at a time and feel that their coach isn’t a match, we’ll work with you to understand what was misaligned after your session and are happy to reassign a new coach after the first session. For those who purchase a coaching package, if you think your coach isn’t the right match for you after your first coaching session, we’ll make a change and won't charge you for the first session.

We’ll Lift,
You Climb

Ascending the corporate — or nonprofit — ladder is exhausting work. But who says you have to do it alone? A helping hand up from a Carrington Talent Group coach will make your climb easier, faster, and probably even more profitable.
